Palhmeshwari Devi Temple

According to Puranas, Maharaja Daksha had performed a Yagya at Maa Palhmeshwari Dham Sthal, in which Lord Bhole Shankar was not invited, on his refusal Goddess Sati came to her father’s house to participate in the Yagya. Not finding her husband’s place there, she jumped into the fire pit in anger and gave up her life. According to mythology, on the information of Sati jumping into the Yagya Kund, Lord Shankar destroyed the Yagya by sending Kaal Bhairav and started wandering the universe by keeping Sati’s dead body on his shoulder.
