Chandrama Rishi Ashram is situated at the confluence of Tamsa and Silni rivers. A fair is held here on Ram Navami and Kartik Purnima, devotees from other districts also come here with faith and belief to see the sage sclupture. Moon is one of the nine planets of Hinduism. He is also known by the names Soma, Rajnipati, Kshuparak and Indu. Chandrama Rishi is considered as Brahma Avatar. According to epic, Atri Rishi stood without blinking his eyes for 3000 years.Then his body was filled with Soma, then he himself appeared in the form of Soma and the sky was filled with his glory. The goddesses of the ten directions received that soma and wrapped it in their womb. But due to not being able to hold it for long, her fetus fell on the ground and took the form of the moon. All the gods worshiped the moon.
